First fish of 2019 and March fish reports

So that was fun.

I went down to the river with the indomitable V. It was another incredible day of mild weather, about 7 or 8 down by the river. Environment says today's average high and low are 1.5° and -10.0°C.  (Update: the maximum and minimum temperatures were 9.9° and -4.0°C.)

We fished for a couple of hours after work, and I got a small grayling on a guide's choice hare's ear.

V went to the blue bridge at Marsh Lake yesterday, she said there is still a bit of ice on the Whitehorse side but it was easy enough to walk on/into the water and you can fish there! There weren't actually any fish anywhere, but we're sure that it's just a matter of weeks (or days). The shallows of Marsh Lake were pretty ice-filled and the rest-stop side looked like a no-go, but she didn't actually drive over to check in detail.

Please feel to post any trip reports in the comments. I would suggest not being too specific about locations unless it's about a very popular stocked lake, or one of those "everybody goes there already" places.
